It's Now Countdown Time...and it's stay the course time!

Thanks for all of your support before and especially during iLEAP/LEAP testing.  I think we work wonders as a TEAM at Baker Middle.  It's great to have nearly 500 students out at the same time for four hours (for 5 days) and have no incidents (except the one shouting matching in the gym).  This says great things about what is going on here!

As you know, two of those days were spent in the gym where students sat for four hours.  I think we have a GREAT student body.  They demonstate this to us again and again when meet in full assembly.  Please congratulate them in your classrooms when you can.

Before us is the challenge to keep learning ALIVE!  Students will most likely feel that everything is over since testing has come and gone.  Your classroom management must be at its peak.  Students must be held accountable to walk in single files, lower voices while dining, and have a general attitude of compliance.  With this, learning can continue to take place.  We hold the key to this by being consistent and fair!

Each teacher needs to revisit procedures for classroom management as well as retuning instructional practices.  Now is the time more than ever to design ENGAGING lessons!   Any break in our stream will ultimately end in some kind of discipline problem.

It's a great time for hands on work.  If you've not fully engaged in immersing technology into your lessons, why not move in that direction now? 

Stay the course and as we move towards the end it will be smooth sailing!
